Summer Vacation part 1
I promise one day this blog will be resurrected. For now, random, sporatic posts will have to do.
About 2 weeks after enjoying my family, we got in the car and headed to Boise, Idaho to enjoy some time with the Ririe's. We decided to make some stops on our way. Our first was to stop in Denver, Colorado and stay with Mitch's cousin, Andrew, and his wife, Tiffany whom I taught 2nd grade with. After a 13 hour drive Saturday, we got to their house and stayed until Monday morning. Luckily, they have boys around the same age as Nate and Eric and everyone had a blast! Taylor is 5, Russell is 3, and Matthew is 6 weeks older than Hailey. So, fun! They played super heros and sword fights and with cars. Andrew was awesome and made each of the boys wooden swords which we took with us on the rest of our trip. I was amazed how well those boys played together. Mitch and I enjoyed visiting with Andrew and Tiff too. They are some of our best friends. Tiff and I enjoyed an early morning run with the beautiful Colorado mountains as our view. So fun!
From Denver it was on to Pocatello, Idaho to visit more of Mitch's cousins. We stayed with Bryce and Becky and got to visit with Alex and Michelle. Again the boys were in heaven playing with "new" cousins. It was hard to get them to go to bed. Tuesday morning we made a quick side trip up to Rexburg, Idaho to visit BYU-Idaho's campus that we haven't been to for 3 1/2 years. The new buildings and renovations are beautiful. We miss Rexburg. We were so blessed to have time there.
Then on to Grandma and Grandpa Ririe's in beautiful Boise, Idaho. Mitch left for a hiking trip with his Dad, Wayne, Shereen, and Blake on Thursday. The kids and I stayed with Grandma in Boise. Here are some pics from Mitch's hike:
Absolutley beautiful! Well, I have more to write about our trip but kids are needing their momma! I'll post more soon!
