It was a very relaxing vacation for me. I had company every day which was nice. I brought the cold weather with me even though I was hoping for it to be warm. I packed my flip flops just in case but couldn't use them until the day before I left. My brother Shaun and his family also live in Springdale so I was able to see them. They didn't tell their kids I was coming to visit so I got to surprise them after school on Wednesday. My neice Isabelle is 5 and the youngest in their family. She really took a liking to Eric wanting to hold he all the time. She was present when I would feed him or change his diaper and would ask, "Can I hold your baby while he's sleeping?" The rest of the kids took a liking too. Sarah, who is getting to the age where she can baby sit, liked to take care of him. She even changed a diaper. Even Daniel loved Eric. It was almost a fight for them to see who got to hold him first when we got to their house. They're fun.
Well, as for what we did... One afternoon we went out to lunch with Shaun. We went to this really good place called the Flying Burrito. It's sort of like Subway but with Burritos. You build your burrito. Friday night we played the famous 5 Crowns and had carmel popcorn and chips and salsa. 5 Crowns is a game the Sedrick's always play when we get together. Also, I played my first game of Rock Band. I started out as lead singer because I had to nurse at the same time. It's hard to sing songs you've never heard before. I think I failed us a couple of times. Luckily children are forgiving.
Monday was an absolutely beautiful day! I was able to go for a run and wear my flip flops that day. Mom, Holly, Isabelle, Shem, and I went to Shakes for some amazing icecream around lunch time. I had to go before I cam home. That afternoon I was able to take Eric for a short walk because it was so warm. Then, everyone came over for dinner and FHE. My nephew Daniel had long hair and we had all been trying to get him to cut it. I guess my brother Shaun offered him $10 to cut it. So, Daniel came and asked me to cut it like Mitch's. Mitch has really short hair so I kept asking if he was sure. Sure enough, we cut about 3 inches off his head. It made him look older. He hated it short. I think just because he wasn't used to it.
For FHE I taught the lesson on the armor of God (thanks Hollie for the idea from your blog). Isabelle is wearing the finally product here. The kids seemed to enjoy it and gave some really great responses on how to remember to put on the whole armor every day.
It was such a fun trip. Thanks Mom and Dad for letting us spend the week with you. You're the greatest. Can't wait to do it again.
