Happy Birthday Mitch!

Tomorrow is Mitch's 25th birthday! I got the idea from a friend to post a little about him and why I love him for his birthday. (Thanks Laura).
Mitch is a wonderful husband and daddy. Who knew from our first date that we would end up being married for time and all eternity? Mitch asked me out a week and a half after he had been home from his mission. I wasn't very interested at the time so needless to say our first date had some hilarious experiences. Mitch took us out to eat at his favorite restaurant, Johnny Carinos. I had been water skiing that day with my family and was burnt to a crisp. I remember just radiating heat all night (or was that burning passion? j/k) In Boise, the temple is right off the freeway so as we were leaving dinner and heading out to play mini golf of course we pass the temple. Mitchell, being a recently returned missionary, says, "I just love the temple." For some reason I got smart and replied, "You can't take me to the temple on our first date!" He just laughed nervously back at me. So, we went to Boondocks to play some mini-golf. While he were there, there was some older people in front of us. Since it was just Mitch and I they told us we could go ahead of them. One man says, "As long as you don't start making out!" We both looked nervously at each other and quickly agreed that we wouldn't. I'm sure by this time Mitch was thinking he made a mistake to ask me out so soon after being home, but then the ride home solidified that for him. He was driving me back to my house when he popped a mint into his mouth. Then, remembering his manners, says, "I'm sorry I didn't offer you a mint." I quickly replied, "Don't think that mint is getting you a kiss." I just have a knack for making awkward situations I guess. I'm not sure why Mitch would want to even try to go out again, but he took a chance on me and after a long and bumpy dating life, we were married a little over a year later.
Mitch is such a happy, harding working person. He is trying so hard to succeed and do well in school. He is so giving to others and wants others to be as happy as he is. Mitch is always happy even when he's not. There have been many a times when he just brings out the fun of an awful situation. Sometimes it irritates me but I have to remember that being happy in any situation is a wonderful gift. Mitch loves his little boy and already rough houses with him even though he's so small. He is also very gently with Eric and already wants to teach him about the gospel (they pray and read scriptures together). I am so thankful for a faithful, loving husband. He makes my life full of joy and smiles. Happy Birthday my love!

I love the dating, kissing, mint, temple story. I never had heard that before. Sorry we missed you when you were in Arkansas. How did Mitches Texas trip turn out? any leads on a internship? Eric is way cute, I bet his personality is as cute as his pictures.

Happy belated birthday, Mitch! I had never heard your first date story before--it just reaffirmed to me that Carrie really IS your match. Little did she know at the time I'm sure, that you're a total goof-off too! You two are great together. (and that little guy isn't so bad, either. ;) ) We miss you!

Hey Carrie, I got on your blog from Aimee's. I know I haven't ever met your husband, but he must be a good guy because we share the same birthday. Glad you had a good visit with your family!
