Florida Trip

I am really trying to get caught up with this blog so I am just hitting on some of the main things we have been up to. The first weekend in May, we decided to take a trip to Pensacola, Florida to visit my brother Mike and his family. The kiddos travelled pretty well actually. It was a long day, but well worth it. We traveled up Thursday. Friday morning was a chill day for Mitch and I. The kids LOVED playing with their cousins! We hardly saw any of them! Friday afternoon we headed to the Naval Air Museum. Really cool place. My boys loved seeing all the different planes. We went later than we should have. We wish we could've had more time. There was so much to see. Mike is a helicopter pilot for the Marines so it was cool to see some of the helicopters he had flown and other ones he had been on in Afganistan.
The fun wasn't over. Friday night, we got babysitters and went out to dinner to an awesome BBQ place called, Shane's. Saturday we headed out to the beach. If the wind wouldn't have been blowing it would've been a fun day. Hailey thought it was noisy and would cry when we got by the water (she doesn't even enjoy the neighborhood pool for some reason). Eric and Nate got in for a few minutes then just enjoyed playing on the beach, building castles and other things. Mitch and Mike went out boogie boarding a bit. It was fun to be on a white sandy beach and just see how the ocean goes on forever! Super fun day. Found tons of sand in our van after that trip!
Sunday we were supposed to go to the dedication of the Fort Lauderdale Temple but we got times mixed up and didn't make it. Oh, Saturday night we also did a big bon fire with wood they had cleared from their property. My kids enjoyed it. They played hard. Eric got read comfortable on a Kazam bike and when he got home we took off his training wheels and took off. Eric cried on the way home. He wanted to stay at Aunt Autumn's house. It was great for the kids to get to know those cousins better. It was a fun trip. We are glad we took the time to go and thankful Mike and autumn let us stay with them.
