LIfe as new parents

Already a week has come and gone since little Eric has joined our family. Life is so fun with him here. Of course the nights are sometimes a beast. But, he's even doing well with those. Last night he woke up twice before falling asleep for 4 1/2 hours. I thought that was pretty good for a newborn. I am trying to nap when he does and that usually gets me through the day. He is such a cute baby. He will be awake for 2 hours at a time and just look around. He doesn't cry too much unless he's hungry. Then half the time he'll sit and play with the nipple in his mouth before finally getting down to eating. The funniest part is that he starts getting mad but it's his own fault! It's funny except in the middle of night when I want to sleep. He doesn't like his diaper changed or getting a bath. He is expert at peeing right when we're almost done. He's gotten the sheets, the duvet cover, the floor, and this morning his momma's PJ pants. It's usually right before he gets a new diaper put on too so we dirty two diapers at changing. But, all I do is laugh. It's quite hilarious when it happens actually. Mitch is especially taken with his son. He always wants him to be awake so they can play. He's often disappointed when he comes home from class and Eric is sleeping. Mitch will love life when Eric is interacting more but Mitch still loves to hold him and talk to him.
