Now that we're home, we're working on this sleeping thing. Of course Eric has his days and nights mixed up so that makes things hard for mom and dad. I know it's normal so I'm just trying to push through and take naps during the day when he naps. I am so grateful to have my mom here too. She has been an amazing help. Life is good for us. We are so blessed to have this little boy in our home. He is amazing!

More Baby Info.
Well, for all you that follow what's happening at the Ririe home, let me update you. Wednesday Mom and baby came home from the hospital. Because we had to choose a name to put on birth certificate information, we decided to call the little tyke Eric James. We feel it is a strong name. A lot of you commented on more birth information. Well, little Eric weighed 7lbs 14 oz. and was 20 1/4 inches long. I'm not sure where he fit! That's probably why it took so long to push the little guy out. My labor was 14 1/2 hours long after they broke my water at around 3:30. I got an epidural around 8 that night. That helped me get some sleep before beginning to push at 3:15. Well, at 5:27 a.m little Eric showed his cute round face. It was definitely a hard but amazing experience.

Wow! My labor is seeming even easier than I thought (sorry!). I am glad that everything went okay though and it doesn't sound like it was too bad. I can't imagine having to push that long!! How did you do it?! Also.... did you like the epideral? I can't decide for the next time. Well, congratulations again. It is the most awesome, amazing, best learning experience ever! Wish I could come see you! And don't worry... I am sure you are doing great and will be the best mom ever!
You were in labor for less than 15 hours?! Wow. Everyone else seems to have it so much easier than I did. Except I pushed as long as you did (and then had to have a c-section.) But aren't epidurals amazing! Enjoy the newborn stage. It goes by so fast! I hope you guys can find the time to get a little bit of sleep in! We've all been there. (and I'm unfortunately still there) Take care and enjoy the new parent experiences. I'm so happy for you!
