Across the Country

On July 22nd, right after Mitch finished with finals we took a huge trip across the country to look for internships. We started off driving 10 hours to Colorado and got to stay with Mitch's cousin Andrew. Mitch interviewed with 3 people there on Thursday and Friday. One was for an internship this Fall in Denver. He also interviewed in Colorado Springs with a Tax firm for January and met with a guy who would refer him to other companies looking for interns. Eric and I just hung out at the Norris's because Tiffany and Taylor were visiting her family. But, we had fun in the evenings hanging with Andrew.
On Saturday morning, we left and headed out to Arkansas to interview with Walmart on Monday. Lucky for us, we also got to see my parents and neices and nephews (Shaun and Holly were in Switzerland). That was another 12 hour drive. Needless to say, we were very happy when we arrived that day. Mitch interviewed with Walmart on Monday and Ernst and Young (a public accounting firm) took us out to dinner on Tuesday. Mitch also met with JB Hunt briefly and got to look into University of Arkansas's Master's programs. All in all, it was a very busy but good trip. Eric and I had fun playing with the nephews and neices. Grandma and Grandpa loved seeing our fat boy. We went to the lake on Tuesday. It is so nice to swim in warm water. It didn't take your breath away when we jumped in. Eric absolutely loved it. It was fun to see family.
We left on Wednesday to head home. Mitch had to work on Friday because it was month end so we hurried home. We stayed with Andrew and Tiffany again. We actually got to hang out with Tiff and Taylor this time which was fun. Then, we pushed on home. The whole trip eric did awesome. He traveled very well for how long he had to be in the car. We would take him out and he would explore the back seat. I am so grateful he was good. Here are some pics documenting our road trip: (make sure you keep reading after for important info.)

Eric wanted a turn driving!
Mitch loves tunnels. This is by Rock Springs, WY.
A storm front somewhere in Kansas. Luckily we didn't see a tornado.
Our happy traveler.
This is Palasades Lake on the border of Idaho and Wyoming. Very beautiful.
Some good definitly come of our long trip. Mitch heard back from the internship for the fall and didn't get it. But, Walmart offered him a position in Internal Auditing (what he wants) starting in January. So, come December we will be making this trip again but to move. It is quite a relief to have an internship. Thank you family and friends for all your prayers on our behalf. The Lord definitely answers them...but of course, in his time.
