Wow!

I didn't quite know what to title this post because life is just going. We were able to come home from the hospital on Friday the 4th. The first 2 nights, Nate decided to be awake for about 3 hours during the middle of the night. On the following Sunday, we cracked down and woke him up frequently during the day. On Monday I had to take Nate in for a follow up doctor's visit. He was looking a little yellow and so they did blood work on him to check his billi ruben. It was right at the spot they don't like to see it. So, we started waking Nate up every 2 hours to get him eating (they said that's the best way to get the liver working). It was rainy here over the next few days so we couldn't put him in the sun. Tuesday we took him in again and the levels had dropped so we just kept doing what we were doing.

Mitch was able to take all that week off. He went back to work on Friday. It was so nice to have him home Eric got plenty of Daddy/Eric time. They went grocery shopping and to the park. Mitch was also kind enough to make dinner on those nights we didn't have food coming in from the ward. He likes creating masterpieces. Here is a yummy sweet and sour chicken meal he made: It was delicious!

Eric is getting used to Nate and seems to love him. He will come and lay by him when he's being changed and talk to him. He likes to climb up on our bed with him or watch him in his bed. He'll tell him to wake up when it's time to eat. He is being a very good big brother. Most of the time, he is very gentle. Sometimes though, he's not quite thinking and will be playing and accidentally kick Nate or something. We're still working on that "there are certain things you can't do around your baby brother" thing.
Sleep is coming. Surprisingly, it has been Eric the last couple nights waking up and thinking it's okay to be awake at 4 and 5 am. This morning he woke up at 5 and didn't go back to sleep. AHHH! Luckily, I have gotten naps a few days. Or I just crash at about 9 p.m. It is crazy to have such a tiny baby and then to look at my boy. Eric seems enormous to me now. It's like he grew so much right when Nate was born. He is such a big boy and not so much a baby anymore.

But, things are going well with 2 kiddo's. I love my boys so much. These little ones just remind you what is really important in the eternal picture. I am loving being a mom even more lately

I remember when Merla walked into the hospital room right after I had Lacey, and it seriously seemed like she was a giant and no longer my baby! I know how that feels, it's weird to suddenly see them as a big kid instead of your little one! I'm glad you are adjusting, hopefully Eric will start sleeping in for you!

oh my goodness, they are too cute. Did Eric have dark hair when he was born? They are both so adorable! I'm glad that Eric is taking so well to him. That's awesome!
Man, those first weeks home with a newborn are a blur, you described it well when you said, "life just keeps going." That is so true.
Excited to meet little Nate sometime, it has been forever! Centerton might as well be a different state! :)

Cute cute cute! I'm glad you didn't have to worry about jaundice, too! I love the two sleeping on the couch. I wish my kids would do that!

They are both so adorable!!! It looks like you just love being a mom. I am so glad to see that you are Mitch are so happy. It feels like such a long time since we were in the same ward in Rexburg...almost 2 1/2 years. Crazy how time goes faster when we get older.
The zoo looks like it was really a lot of fun.
