Back from the Dead
I promise to do and be better about this blog. I don't know if anyone still reads it since I have been such a lazy writer. I will start where I left off and try to catch up a little bit. I left off right before Christmas. I mentioned we are expecting and had just found out. Well, you probably know that by some miracle, a girl is coming to this Ririe family. Mitch is from a family of 5 boys and after our 2 boys we didn't think it was possible. But, Heavenly Father knows what we need. Mitch is nervous but will be a great daddy to his girl just like he is to his boys.
Our Christmas was low key which was awesome. My parents stayed in town and came up on Christmas Eve to enjoy festivities with us. Christmas Eve we fondued meat and had baked potatoes. After dinner, we headed out to a family in our ward's live nativity. They live on a farm so they have people represent Mary and Joseph in their barn. Mitch was one of the wise men. We warmed up after being outside with hot cocoa when we got home. It was a good reminder of the meaning of Christmas. Since our boys aren't too old yet, Mitch and I were actually up before them since we were so excited. We were all spoiled and very blessed. Eric wanted a batman with a controller. He was excited when that's exactly what Santa brought. He got loads of batman and other super hero stuff. Nate, wanting to be like his brother, also got super hero stuff. They share pretty well. We also got the boys a trampoline. It was too cold to set up, but they waiting patiently until the end of January (pictures to come.)I surprised Mitch with an iPhone 5 that he has been wanting for awhile! He was surprised and super excited. All I have are videos of this great morning. The floor was covered. My present was the extra room being painted. Mitch took a few days off work and did it for me. Now, my second room is painted. Now to decorate. It is fun.
It was a lot of work because the ceilings and walls are all brown so we have the work of painting ceilings when we paint. So, it was a gift of love.
We had a little snow the day after Christmas but other than that is was just cold. Our New Years was uneventful. I guess that means that we are getting old. I think we were in bed well before midnight. We did go to a friends house from about 6-8 then came home and put the kiddos in bed. I blame my uneventfullness on pregnancy. That is the end of our 2012. Coming very soon, I promise, the major events from 2013 so far! Lots of fun pictures!
