The beginning to our August (intro. to the next 2 posts)
We as Ririe's have been looking forward to August since Christmas. We knew that sometime in August, Mitch's brother Wayne would be returning from his mission to Chiuaha, Mexico where he has been serving for the past 2 years. As august came closer we found out that August 2nd would be the day he would be back state side. We were very anxious and excited. A few days before he got home, Mitch's parents got word that Wayne would not be coming home on Monday the 2nd. The mission home had somehow forgotten to send in his Visa to get signed so he could come home. Since it had gotten in late, it wouldn't be out on time. (1st story). So, we received word that although we didn't know what day Wayne would be home, the mission home assured us it would be by Saturday at the latest. We were ok with this considering the Mitch and I and Tyson would be flying in Saturday too. Each day things got fishier. Sadly, he didn't get home on Saturday because the Mexican Government still had his Visa. So we went to the Ririe reunion without Wayne (see next post) each night hoping we'd hear from the mission home that the Visa had gotten signed and Wayne would be home the next day. Each day was dissapointing. We heard that the Governement was actually holding onto 90 missionary Visa's. It seems they are a little upset about Arizona passing laws against illegal immigration into their state. On Thursday, we received word that Wayne would be coming home next Wednesday. We were bummed because it was 2 days after we left. But so excited to be home. What a relief to know that he's coming home. Now we could continue enjoying vacation. (See 3rd post down to see the end)
