The Ririe Reunion

The annual Ririe reunion began Monday as we drove up to McCall. The day felt so cool to us from Arkansas. I love dry heat! That evening we just got unpacked and had a delicious dinner made by Tammy. I'm sure we broke out the games that night. Del loved Boggle. Blake, Graham, and Tyson broke out the Settler's. Del's sister Stephanie, her husband David and their 2 daughters Amelia and Claire along with William (6 months older than Eric) joined us for the week. We can't forget Grandma Ririe either. Del's brother David and his wife Inga live in McCall and they joined us for festivities.
While we were in McCall a storm came through bringing cool weather and rain that put a small damper on some of the activities we had wanted to do (canoeing, hiking, etc.) so we had to improvise. One day the boys went and played a round of golf. The girls took the little ones to the park by the lake. While we were there a forest worker came and asked if the kiddos would like to feed the fish that they are keeping to release. The kids loved it. Sadly, since we weren't expecting it, no one had their camera. It was great though. Wednesday, it rained almost all day. In the morning we got in a bike ride around town. We put Eric in our hiking backpack and he got to come along too. It was cold though. That afternoon some peeps went to the fish hatchery. Mitch joined them but I stayed at home where it was warm. On Thursday we went to the Gold Fork Hot Springs (I think that's their name). It was really neat. They have one really hot pool then pools going down the hill and they get progressively cooler. It is all outside so you have the beautiful scenery. It was a fun relaxing day. Friday we packed up and headed back to Boise. That day was spent recooperating from our vacation. Isn't that funny that you have to recoop from vacation? Saturday I headed to Roaring Springs with my sister Becky, her husband Derek, my brother Jeremy, his wife Olivia, my nieces Linzi and Ke'ilan, my nephew Braden and Mitch's brother Blake. It was my first time actually. It was pretty fun. I wasn't sure if I was going to get to see my family while we were there but since Wayne wasn't able to get home, I headed out to play. On Sunday Mitch and I were able to go out and spend time for Linzi's and my nephew Cody's birthday. It was a super fun vacation. It was a little sad to come back. We miss a lot of fun things being so far away. But, without work, you don't appreciate vacations!
Beautiful McCall from our backyard!

Breaking out the Settler's

One evening a fox was walking around our home. He actually came on the porch. I guess later on he was eating someone's s'more they left on the porch. It was really neat.

A small town on the way back from the hot springs. So beautiful!

An old general store in the small random town. What would it have been like to live back then?

Blake

Ya know, Arkansas is pretty, but so is this.
